Shark cartilage has calcium in a much easier to utilise form for dogs than any vegetable or rock source (just like bones) but it is not as harsh on teeth. So if you are a raw feeder and you want an option besides lamb ribs and chicken necks, then it is an ideal low fat source. Balanced between calcium and phosphorous is correct too.
